Shrub Oak Man With Suspended License Charged With Drug Possession In Putnam

A Westchester County man is facing a drug charge after being busted with unprescribed prescription medication during a traffic stop in Putnam Valley.

Shrub Oak resident Devin West, 31, was stopped at approximately 9:20 a.m. on Monday, April 22 when he committed a traffic violation on Wood Street, Putnam County Sheriff Robert Langley, Jr., announced.

During the stop, it was determined that West’s driver’s license had been suspended, and he was found to be in possession of Suboxone, which he did not have a prescription for.

West was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and criminal possession of a controlled substance, both misdemeanors. 

Following his arraignment, West was released on his own recognizance and scheduled to appear in the Town of Putnam Valley Justice Court at a later date to respond to the charges.
